Pock Marks Future Holes

Drawings from my last workshop. I feel myself improving but it is hard to say how or why. I am learning to draw curves correctly in a single stroke. Construction and form are still difficult. Each new pose is a puzzle that is immense fun to solve.









Winter break is coming and this is the last week for figure drawing workshops at the Academy. If you know of a good figure drawing session that meets more than once a week in San Francisco, leave me a comment.

Let's watch the entire drawing session... this time completely unedited and commercial free! Sometimes the best drawings don't always happen at the end.












These were all about 7 minute poses. I like this time length. They are long enough to allow me to finish a pose, but challenging because they are so short. The worst way to ruin a drawing is by overworking it.

I did more drawings. I like 'em.

Also, I did some drawings.






Still haven't figured out cross-hatching. I tend to work too fast on the lines and view them as a single tone. They fight with the line drawing to define the form, making the image disjointed. If I can work them in a way that is that builds on the line drawing, the final image will be more beautiful.
